Kidz

Where 1st-5th grade Kids can belong

Wednesday Nights and Sunday Mornings

We’re pointing the energy, the curiosity, and the rapidly developing brains of these grade-school-aged kids straight at Jesus every time we gather!

The Children’s Ministry of Carpenter’s Way is designed to let our elementary and preteen kids explore and experience the Gospel in action on developmentally appropriate levels.  Our team is dedicated both to these kids as well as their parents as they grow in the Lord and learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

If you landed on this page, you might be a parent or grandparent of a preteen or an elementary aged kid. Maybe you’re just checking out our vibe or you have some specific questions. Either way, below are some things you might be looking for in a children’s ministry.

  • : : WHEN WE MEET : :

Wednesdays, during the school year, we meet from 6pm to 7:45pm in the Children’s wing at CW.  These nights are full of fun, worship, teaching, and small group activities that have been developed by dozens of children’s ministry veterans and experts from around the world with degrees in education and decades of experience in children’s ministry…literally!

Sunday mornings, we gather in the Children’s wing at CW for a lesson and activity during the service.  Parents can go to ‘big church’ while their 1st-5th grader goes to ‘kidz church’.  Of course, all kids are welcome to stay with their parents in ‘big church’, too.  You choose what is the best fit for your family.

  • : : WHAT ABOUT FOOD : :

On Sundays, please do not bring food or snacks for the kids. We will sometimes offer snacks or treats on special occasions - such as cereal or donuts. We’re so busy having fun and learning about Jesus that they’ll be ready for lunch in a few minutes.

Because Wednesday night gatherings happen during dinner time, we understand that many kids might be rushing in from an after-school program and haven’t had time to eat. We do not provide meals due to the number of dietary restrictions amongst our kiddos, but we do have some solutions you may want to consider.

Option 1: Tabersnackle - our student ministry runs a snack shop on Wednesday that sells candy, snacks, and a small meal. Many parents will take their kids and order a meal on that side of the building before checking their child into Kidz Church. It’s important that all purchases are made BEFORE checking in. Our policy is to keep all kids safe in the kids area from check in to check out except for being escorted to the restrooms. Therefore, kids will not be allowed to leave the children’s wing alone to go purchase Tabersnackle.

Option 2: Bring your own food - many families will bring in fast food or home cooked food for the kid to enjoy before beginning play time. We ask that all food come ready to eat. We do not have the ability to microwave or prepare the meals. Also, due to the food allergies amongst our kids, children will not be able to share with others outside of their family.

  • : : HOW DO WE REACH KIDS? :

The Gospel hasn’t changed, but this emerging generation has.  In fact, every generation looks at the world and learns differently than the generation before.  Here is our plan for reaching your kids.

Our curriculum is actually vetted and tested by people with PhDs and other alphabets after their names, with decades of experience in classrooms and children’s churches around the world.  Our Sundays and Wednesdays are full of interactive teaching, video elements, gen-alpha-minded worship music, and memorable activities that will take the timeless truths of God and lodge them in the minds and hearts of your kid.  We guarantee that every gathering your kid attends, he or she will leave with a takeaway that can be discussed in the car ride home.

We are a team, not just one person.  Have you ever had that experience where your kid really seems to bond with that one family member or family friend over another.  It’s like they find something they need in that person.  That’s true of all kids.  That’s why we have recruited a team of adults, trained them, and background checked them to build a Children’s Ministry that serves every kid that walks through the doors.

  • : : I'M A PARENT... WHAT ABOUT ME? : :

You’re doing GREAT!  Seriously, you are.  I know what you’re thinking.  “You don’t even know me.  You didn’t even know I was reading this.  How can you tell me I’m doing great?”  But you are reading this and you are taking time out of your day to consider how your kid is going to be discipled and grow to know and love Jesus.  Not every kid has a parent that is taking those steps.  Keep up the good work.

In fact, we want to help you keep up the good work.  We believe that we are not called to be the lone superhero for your kid.  That’s your job.  If you’re Batman then we are Robin.  We are here to support you in the discipleship of your kids.

Communication is a big part of that.  Our goal is to overcommunicate with you.  We want you to know of upcoming events, what is being taught, the Bible memory verse for the month, and a number of other opportunities.  Below are some links you may want to sign up for:
